Sweet liberty! One of my favorite PS4-era shooters is back with a whole new perspective and it’s up to me and my friends to defend Super Earth in glorious co-op! After going hands-on with Helldivers 2 for three hours, I’m sold on the bold pivot from the original’s top-down view to the sequel’s new third-person perspective, the appetizing roster of deadly gadgets, and the outrageous comedic tone that expertly channels the low-budget action film vibes that pair perfectly with the developer’s live-service ambitions.
There's also friendly fire in the game, so the last thing you want to do is take down your fellow Helldivers. If you want to lock onto a target and be even steadier with your aim, try crouching.
These days, it's pretty rare for new shooter games to be exclusively PvE. Helldivers 2 is, though, as there's not a single PvP mode in the game, and there aren't any plans for one in the future, either. Helldivers fight for Super Earth together, after all!
Blow the doors off! Things can be destroyed in Helldivers 2, and some of the optional objectives will encourage you to blow places to bits. Sometimes when you find points of interest, you'll see crates or doors nearby. Throw a grenade and open them up to find even more loot.
The best part about the live-service model that they implemented is that you choose the rewards you want to get albeit with some restrictions. They also added new armor types in the game as opposed to the first game, where armor is actually something that you need to optimize now as it was purely cosmetic before. To add to this, the live-service model makes the game have actual missions and goals for you to pursue. Before, you would just grind for specific materials to get the best weapons and you would be pretty much done.
After your Helldiver defrosts on your ship, you and your squadmates must prepare for a mission by customizing your armor, your weapons, and your stratagems together.
Fun game, but the crashes, disconnects, and server issues every 30 min make it hard to have a fun time. Finding a group to play with is a pain and always says the group is full. Fix a few issues and this game will be top notch

You have your own ship, which serves as your home base and allows you (and your squad of up to three friends) to launch missions to new planets, customize your loadout, and choose recognizable freedom-saving weapons like orbital drone strikes and chemical weapons, called Stratagems.
Missions vary from raising patriotic flags to realigning communications equipment and rescuing civilian colonists, but there are always side tasks too, including destroying bases and exploring abandoned research stations. The main currency is Requisition Slips, which pay for new Strategems from a vast and exotic list.
I’m a big fan of having various options for games, and this is pelo different. Having different unlockable items can lead to a lot of loadout options to suit your playstyle.
